About Me
Education and Experience
I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a Physics concentration from New Mexico Tech in 1985. Along the way, I also earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Science (1992), a diploma in Industrial Electronics and Robotics (1994), and several online certifications (see below). I've worked for 2 different defense contractors on various classified missile projects, and I was the Senior Engineer on a commercial data archival and retrieval project for 12 years. I was first introduced to the personal computer back in the mid-80's, and built my first one from component parts in 1992. Since then, I have built, configured, repaired, upgraded and maintained many PCs, servers and networks. Although employed as a software engineer for over 20 years, I always enjoyed working with computer hardware more than developing software applications. I also became quite interested in recovering lost or corrupt data on customer systems, and to this day, I enjoy the challenge of repairing Windows file systems (FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS), and restoring deleted data files.
